Utilities

UtilitiesYelm is home to some of the purest water in the state due to its proximity to the Nisqually River, in the heart of the Nisqually Watershed.

The City of Yelm provides high quality drinking water, ensures the safe disposal and treatment of wastewater, and maintains stormwater drainage for the citizens of Yelm.

Affordable utility rates are the number one priority for City administration and we strive to keep utility rates as low as possible for our customers.  Water, sewer and stormwater rates cover all operation and maintenance expenses, emergency repairs, and any water system debt service. New connections to the water system also pay a one-time fee to cover the costs associated with new infrastructure to ensure safe drinking water and proper water treatment for that connection.
