  The City is currently updating the Water System Plan In addition, the reservoir to be constructed in southeast Yelm was sited to improve fire flow conditions in that area of the system which is currently undersized for available fire flow capacity.  Construction of the new reservoir will provide more flexibility for operation of the system maintenance as well.  Preliminary sizing of the reservoir is approximately 500,000 gallon capacity with ground elevation at 350-ft and HGL at 477-feet.

Schedule: It is anticipated that we will complete the 2016 – 2021 Water Systems Plan in 2017 and the scope of work for Water Reservoir – SE Yelm Reservoir 2 would begin design efforts late Summer of 2017.

Budget: 2017 the tentative budget for the 2017 phase of the project is $645,000

This phase of the project requires expertise in the design of all civil, survey, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation aspects of potable water reservoirs and SCADA communication needs. Specific to this project will be system planning with alternatives analysis, preliminary design and cost estimating, and preliminary land acquisition determinations and site evaluations.


The City, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4 and Title 49 C.F.R., Department of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, Nondiscrimination in Federally-assisted programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises as defined at 49 CFR Part 23 will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex in consideration for an award.  The City encourages minority and women-owned firms to submit bids consistent with the City’s policy to ensure that such firms are afforded the maximum practicable opportunity to compete for and obtain public contracts.
