The Financial Services Department provides the City with a full range of financial and accounting services and is responsible for the fiscal activities of the City. The department serves a key role in the budget process including budget coordination, preparation and administration. Revenue forecasting and financial planning, debt management, and preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports to citizens, elected officials, and federal and state agencies are some of the services provided by the Financial Services Department. Other key responsibilities include cash management, processing the City’s expenditures, including payroll and accounts payable, managing business licensing and tax activities, and utility account maintenance and billing.
The Administrative Services/City Clerk’s Office provides a strong customer service relationship between government and the public, and is the general information desk for City business. Citizen Action and Park Use request forms,applications for business licenses, building permits, and animal licenses are available at the counter. The City Clerk is the custodian of official records and legal documents of the City and provides support to the City Council in the legislative process, manages and maintains municipal records, including ordinances, resolutions and the permanent record of City Council proceedings, publishes legal notices, prepares and distributes City Council agenda packets, and accepts claims for damages and requests for public information.
