Advisory Boards & Commissions
Yelm has an active and involved citizen base who give back to the community through service on Boards and Commissions which advise the Mayor and Council or conduct business delegated by the Council.


The Planning Commission advises the Council on land use policy.




The Hearing Examiner acts on certain land use permits that require a public hearing.




The Tree Advisory Board organizes Yelm's arbor day celebration and prepares the tree plan.





The Historic Preservation Commission manages the city's historic inventory.



The Site Plan Review Committee acts on certain land use permits that do not require a hearing.




The Parks Advisory Committee organizes park activities and prepares the parks plan.




The LIbrary Advisory Board is the City's connection to the Timberland Regional Library system.




The Yelm Civil Service Commission - Meetings are held quarterly on the third Thursday in March, June, September and December.  Click here to view the current meeting agenda.  Information about the Civil Service Commission can be found in the Yelm Municipal Code, Chapter 2.48.




If you are interested in serving on a Board or Commission, submit the application to the Community Development Department.
