CITY ADMINISTRATOR

The City Administrator is appointed by the Mayor, to serve at the pleasure of the Mayor, and reports directly to the Mayor regarding all City matters. The City Administrator is responsible for ensuring that the policy set by the City Council is carried out in a professional, efficient, cost effective, and timely manner.

Under the direction and authority of the Mayor, the City Administrator supervises, administers and coordinates the activities and functions of the various City officers, departments, commissions and boards and develops administrative rules consistent with City Council policy, ordinances and resolutions; assures the effective and efficient utilization of City employees, funds, materials, facilities and time; and directs and controls the overall operations of the City to assure optimum services to the community. She makes policy recommendations and furnishes the City Council and Mayor with information to provide for the proper administration of all ordinances, resolutions and actions of the Council and assists the City Council in the development of community goals and priorities; reviews and examines departmental organization and operating procedures; and represents the City in an intergovernmental and public relations context.

The current City Administrator, Shelly Badger, was appointed effective January of 1993.
